iTab
iTab is the quickest way to find guitar tabs for the songs you love.
Many guitarists practise using tabs from their computer. iTab lets you search for tabs
directly from
your Mac. Instantly search for any song you desire without opening up your web browser. Better yet, using
the
Follow iTunes/Spotify feature, sit back and have the tabs delivered to you!
Fast…
iTab is the fastest and cleanest way to get guitar tabs. After either clicking Follow iTunes or manually using the
search, iTab can retrieve the search results or go straight to the first tab, which means there is no delay between
opening iTab and starting playing along.
Follow iTunes/Spotify
Using the Follow iTunes/Spotify mode, every time a new song plays in iTunes or Spotify the tab will instantly
appear in iTab. So you can sit back, hands-free, and concentrate on your playing, without first searching to find
the music.
Instruments
iTab is not just for guitarists. Using the instrument pop down at the top, you can select which type of tabs you
want to retrieve. You can choose from: guitar, bass, drums or chords.
Tab Source
Choose where your tabs come from: Ultimate-Guitar, 911Tabs or Google. When using 911Tabs or Google, iTab will get
the search results for you. When using Ultimate-Guitar, iTab will get the top result from your search and will
display it straight away, for even less clicking!
FAQs
If there is another site you would like to use within iTab, please comment on this page or
contact me.
For the
Follow iTunes mode to work well, your
iTunes library should be well formatted.
The songs should have the correct song name and artist name.
There are a couple tools available to help with this if you don't want to do it manually, like
MusicBrainz (free) or
TuneUp.
Some features on various tab websites use Adobe Flash. At present iTab doesn’t have the flash plugin
enabled. I have tested with and without flash, and there are currently stability issues with flash
crashing, so I have not included it so far. I will be enabling it for future releases when I have fixed
it.
iTab doesn't currently allow printing. To print tabs, right-click on the toolbar and select "Customise
toolbar". From there add "Open in browser". Clicking on the new button will make the tab appear in your
browser where you should be able to print.
Please ensure you have updated to the latest version from the Mac App Store.
If you are up to date, try removing the preferences file which is located at:
~/Library/Preferences/com.richard-stanton.iTab.plist
Where
~
is your user home folder. Then restart iTab.
If the problems persist
please contact me!
iTab doesn't host any tabs, it is a search engine. If there are any issues with licensing please get in
contact with the tab provider.
I'm sorry that iTab hasn't worked in your situation. To get a refund
